Initiatives for responsible and sustainable food in the Mediterranean

Initiatives for responsible and sustainable food in the Mediterranean

Interview in OCEMO with Jean-Louis Rastoin, emeritus professor at Montpellier SupAgro, scientific advisor to the UNESCO Chair for Worldwide food and a partner with Resolis, to talk about our collaboration.

"In view of the MedCop22, IPEMED is a partner of the programme "Initiatives for responsible and sustainable food in the Mediterranean.” Food, agriculture and rural development are at the heart of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted in September 2015 by the United Nations Member States, particularly the SDG 1 (end to poverty), SDG 2 ("zero" hunger) but also the SDG 12 (establishing sustainable consumption and production methods).

On the occasion of the Med Cop22, which will take place in Tangier from 18 to 19 July 2016, the Resolis Journal, of the association of the same name for the search and evaluation of innovative social solutions, will publish a collective publication on decentralised, local systems in the Mediterranean. Jean-Louis Rastoin, emeritus professor at Montpellier SupAgro, the UNESCO Chair  for Worldwide food and an expert associated with IPEMED, will present us with the outline."

Video of the RESOLIS meeting: Culture as an integration tool?

On 12th April 2016, Resolis organised a meeting between stakeholders on the following question:

Can culture be an integration tool?

This meeting follows market research conducted by students from Sciences Po and gathered together thirty actors from the field as well as academics. It was based on feedback from the actors who use culture as a lever to reintegrate disadvantaged people: prisoners, immigrants, very excluded ...

Based on the theme of feedback and sharing, this morning of exchanges was designed to provide the first steps towards highlighting the contribution of culture in the integration process.

Discussions that will be continued during other working groups organised during the year!

Don’t hesitate to send us an email observatoire@resolis.org if you want to participate in this focus group!
